Exercise-O-Rama
Well, I got up and went jogging this morning. Went to where I wanted to go and found it was closed because of the Triathlon this weekend. It’s okay, though, because I found an even better place to go jogging. It’ll probably be where I go from now on.
However, jogging is not my strong suit. It was really hard to keep going. My legs may have been a little tired from bike riding yesterday. I only went for 16 minutes. It’s been a long time since I’ve been jogging.
Note to self:
Must.
Get.
Back.
In.
Shape.
Biking to Work
Oh, yeah, I rode my bike to work today. It was 6.8 miles. Took about 35 minutes, which isn’t too bad. I was prety worn out by the time I got to work, though. I haven’t ridden for a few weeks because I haven’t been feeling too well. Hopefully, I can start riding 2-3 times a week.
While I was riding to work, I heard this sound coming up behind me. I assumed it was a car. Turns out, it was another bicyclist. He zoomed past me like I was standing still. I was going around 18 mph. I figure he must’ve been going at least 30. I wonder if he was preparing for the triathlon.
Threeathlon
So, they have the Ironman Triathlon this Saturday for Arizona. I was thinking that I might like to do one, until I realized that it’s:
112 miles of biking
2.4 miles of swimming
26.2 miles of running
ALL IN ONE DAY
That’s just insane, yet I want to do it. Maybe first I’ll try doing one part of each a year and then the fourth year do them all. I’ve almost done that much biking in one day — did 95 miles when I first did the MS 150. As for what else I’ve done, running comes in second — I ran 4 miles once (did it in about 45 minutes). Running comes a little harder now 1) because I weigh more than I used to and 2) I get a foot pain in my arch after about 20-30 minutes. But I’m going to run tomorrow for about 20 minutes. That is, if I wake up soon enough. As for swimming — this would be the most challenging part. I’ve never done much swimming. A lap or two in the pool is all I’ve done.
I’d really like to add a triathlon to the things I wish to accomplish list, but I just don’t see that happening. Maybe I just need to have more of a can-do attitude.
Week for Tea
Okay, well, it’s Monday night and I have a three-page paper to write about something which I think is silly. But I’ll write it anyhow. But before I start that I thought I’d do some procrastinating.
I pulled out
my guitar I purchased back in Septemeber. I realized that paying 6$ for a guitar on eBay was probably a poor decision. I hope to buy a better one this summer that I can actually play.
I’m brewing up some more tea. Tonight’s flavor is STASH Premium Chai Spice flavor. It smells pretty dang good. Sooooo goooood. Mmmmmmm. You know you want some.
The Ants Go Marching One by One
So, I’ve been having a small problem with ants in the kitchen. It really is just a small problem. I see one or two on the counter almost every time I look at the counter — but only one or two. I got some ant spray that I put around all the baseboards in the kitchen. It hasn’t seemed to have too much effect, so I went to the grocery store tonight to get some ant bait. Those are the little things you put down in corners and they die from it. I was a thte grocery store, so I thought I’d get my groceries for the week. I got home and realized I forgot the ant bait. Doh!
It’s okay, though, because I got some TAZO Calm tea. According to the package, “A single cup of Tazo Calm has been known to have the same ffect as sitting for 45 minutes in a mountain meadow on a sunny day with your shoes off.” Sounds good to me!
