My Dreaming Christmas List

As in dreaming-but-not-gonna-get-it Christmas list. Mostly focused around camera stuff. Okay, it all is camera stuff.

1. Sony a700 digital SLR camera body
2. Sony HVL-F58AM Flash
3. Sigma 70mm f/2.8 macro lens for Sony mount
4. Sony 50mm f/1.4 lens

Those are actually the next things I plan to get for my camera setup. I might be able to do it by next summer, but we will see. Here are some more, should you happen to be the person that won the lottery and feel generous.

5. Sony a900 digital SLR camera body
6. Sony 24-70 f/2.8 zoom lens
7. Sony 70-200 f/2.8 zoom lens
8. Sony 85mm f/1.4 lens

And just for fun:

9. A LensBaby Lens

Yep, I am. Not that I’m too excited about either of the candidates. I wanted to vote for Ron Paul if he was still running on the Republican ticket. It would be nice to have a fiscal conservative in the office.

I don’t like the fear-mongering campaign the Republicans are running, though. Obama is not a Muslim, not a terrorist, and hardly a socialist. If anyone currently running is really a socialist, it would be Sarah Palin, who takes money from the profits of oil companies and gives it to the citizens of Alaska. Joe the Plumber would most likely pay less taxes under Obama. Many don’t seem to realize if you’ve got a company making a profit of $250,000/year that’s different than revenues of $250,000/year. There’s also a difference between personal income (income tax) and business profit (capital gains tax, which are much lower than personal income taxes). That’s mostly likely why someone like Warren Buffett pays a smaller percentage tax than me. Even then, the taxes in that 250k+ bracket its proposed to go up from 36% to only 39%.

Even if Obama were a socialist, which I don’t find much evidence for, what’s wrong with sharing? My mommy taught me to share, especially with those who are more unfortunate than I. Now, if you’re just lazy that’s a different matter. But how many of you have had to struggle with maybe raising kids on your own, where you can’t even provide healtchare because you make too much, or you can’t get childcare because you don’t make enough? It becomes a catch-22. But you go ahead an keep worrying about Obama making you share. I wonder if even Reagan was taxing more than Obama is proposing.

I’ve even read some say (James Dobson) that Obama is going to ban the Bible. Umm, you know Obama is a Christian, right?

I don’t care if gay people want to get married and have the same rights as heterosexuals. Marriage pre-dates Christianity and Judaism, so to define it the way some want to right now is trying to establish religious laws and goes against religious liberty. I think the Constitution had something to say about establishing religious laws.

The Constitution was not “based on the Bible” as many seem to think. It had many of its tenets based on the Magna Carta and many of the founders were Deists (not Christians). Just sayin’.

One final thought: Are you really a “maverick” if you have to call yourself one? And even if he were, do you really want a “maverick” for President of the United States? Or would you like someone who is even-tempered, hasn’t cheated on and left his disabled wife, and hasn’t called his current wife nasty names (a word I’m too embarrassed to link to on my blog) in public? That is all for now. I hope you vote.
