Almost February Update
I see I haven’t really updated much on here, lately. I suppose that’s because there’s not really too much going on. But I guess a little update is in order.
Photography course:
Hmm, this seems to have taken a back burner. I have completed Unit 1 (I think there are 6 units). Really need to jump back into that. I have to finish my pictures for unit 1. Hopefully can come up with something over my little Disneyland trip (see below). The only picture type I believe I have remaining is the large depth-of-field shot, in which items in the picture up close are in focus as well as those off in the distance.
Photographic purchases:
I like the Minolta 70-210 beercan I purchased. Took a bunch of shots at the Arizona PF Changs Rock ‘n Roll Marathon. I think ability-wise I’m ready to upgrade my camera body to the Sony Alpha A700, but my budget says otherwise. Stupid budget. Maybe for my birthday in June. I think I’m getting really close to wanting to do more portrait/headshot-type work. I’d also like to get the Sigma 70mm f/2.8 EX DG lens, which would work well for portrait work.
Music:
Haven’t played the trumpet in a long time. Need to start doing that again. Maybe I’ll sign on with the Glendale Summer Band again this year. That was fun and the drive would be a little less than when I did it in 2007.
Trips:
Going to Disneyland next week! And the beach! With my sweetie, Sonia! Are you ready, Sweetie? I know I am!
That’s enough for now. I’m hoping to get some fun shots while on my trip!
http://asunews.asu.edu/20090128_furloughprogram
This is due to the state-funding being cut to ASU, which is due to budget shortfalls.
Ironic statement in the article:
“Furloughed employees are eligible to apply for unemployment compensation for time lost.” (unemployment compensation is paid for by the…state)
Galactica vs. Enterprise
In honor of tomorrow’s return of BSG, who do you think would win?
Sim City
Does anybody remember the computer game called ‘Sim City’? And does anyone remember what happened when you raised the taxes too much?
First Post of 2009
How’s that for an original title? I thought you’d like it. Heh.
Well, its 2009. I *suppose* I should make some resolutions. Meh.
Okay, here’s one: I resolve not to make any resolutions…
Doh! I think that’s a speed record in breaking a new year’s resolution. I guess I’ll think some more about making some resolutions and get back to you.
Hmm, so far this a pretty boring post.
Well, I did go a little out of order on my camera list. Santa brought me the infamous beercan lens, which wasn’t on the list at all. I’m hoping to get out some this weekend and shoot a little with it. My next big purchase, though, will most likely be the Sony a700 body, as per my previous post.
Oh, I’m going with Sonia to Disneyland in February. She hasn’t been to DisneyLAND, but she has been to that *other* place. Sure, its smaller, but its also the original. Take that, Disneyworld!
